With the ability to prevent fire passage for up to five hours when used on the appropriate joints in fire-rated structures, this Everflex Fire Mate Intumescent Acrylic Sealant from Everbuild is a one-part, emulsion acrylic-based, intumescent acoustic sealant. It provides a seal that is simultaneously firm and flexible.

The fillers in this formulation are strategically chosen to allow for use as an acoustic sealant. Heat exposure causes Everflex Fire Mate to swell more than three times its original size and creates a char that provides five hours' worth of fire protection. There is no need to prime the majority of common substrates before applying Fire Mate.

Standards & Certification

  • Fire rated to EN1366-4 (2006).
  • Acoustic rated to BS EN ISO 140/3
  • Tested for air permeability to EN13141-1.
  • Certified under the harmonized European standard EN15651 for façade for interior applications in compliance with the Construction Product Regulation.
  • Tested following the principles of BS EN 1366-4:2006 as detailed in Warrington Fire Research Report No. 412463(2019). BS EN 1366-3: 2009 as detailed in Warrington Fire Research Report No. 412725(2019).
  • EN15651-1 F-INT.

Please note:

  • Not for use on substrates that may bleed oils, solvents or plasticiser, or for use where joints are constantly immersed in water, or as part of structural glazing systems. Known to have compatibility problems with some cPVC pipping.
